This week was my first outing to help raise funds for a truly wonderful charity!

Unfortunately having cancer in no way makes me special, it makes me very very ordinary and I find that a tragedy. I know of not one person whose lives have not been touched by this dreadful disease. One of the most amazing things to have come out of MasterChef is that I can in just a small way be part of raising funds to help fight and improve treatment for others.

I think that I can best be utilised by focussing on just two charities and doing everything I can to help them. One of the charities is The Ark Cancer Charity. Personally, I know how inspirational and amazing Mr Rees and his team are. This Charity is aiming to set up a centre of excellence in the south:

This week was my first outing to help in fund raising. I had the real privilege of attending the Ark Cancer Centre Charity Fund raiser - Music in the Garden at Hazelby House. I was one of the auction prizes (very mortifying can you imagine if no one had bid!). Luckily I was duly auctioned off and am very excited to soon be cooking for a very lovely generous couple.

On a personal level I am now in the lucky position of being able to pick what it is I want to do. I will be very involved with charity work but there also some other exciting things in the pipeline too which I hope to be able to tell you about soon.

Despite the weather I do hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
