Jane Devonshire Recipes

I will continue to add my recipes on this page as they appear in the media on and on Facebook.

I intend to give you a mixture of the day-to-day practical recipes that I cook for my family, mixed with some tips and tricks for fine dining and plating.

STARTERS
FISH

Winkles on toast

Serves 4

This recipe always reminds me of my childhood when we used to get beautiful fresh ones from the fish man at the market for Sunday tea.

Cheesy fish pie

I love to serve this with purple sprouting broccoli, steamed spinach or another dark green but choose the veg you love.

Fresh lobster pasta with tomato chilli and tarragon

Serves 2

I do cook this dish with prawns as well and it works beautifully.

Simple one-pan roast chicken

Serves 4 - 6

Beef and oxtail stew

Serves 4 - 6

Cheesy meatballs in rich tomato sauce

Serves 6 - 8

This recipe is a great family favourite.

Loin of lamb with butterbeans and garlic puree, new season broad beans, Cavolo Nero and lamb gravy

Lamb meatballs with feta on a Mediterranean vegetable stew

I love meatballs as everyday family food as you can really play with different flavours and combinations.

Watercress, feta and herb quiche

Its lovely served warm for lunch but also a great picnic dish.

MAIN COURSES

Cheat's Mexican chilli

Serves 4 - 6

You can’t beat a great chilli and this is my relatively quick mid-week version.

One pot chicken with tomato, bacon and mushrooms

Serves 4

This is a real midweek favourite in my house. It’s very easy, very tasty, great for freezing and economical too.

DESSERTS

Strawberry and Rhubarb crumble

Serves 4

This is the perfect pud for warm days and breezy evenings. I make it gluten-free, and I don’t think anyone’s ever noticed.
